چکیده
Abstract Among chromium trihalides, a specific group of layered van der Waals magnetic materials, trichloride (CrCl 3 ) is the only system relatively stable under ambient conditions. This also observed in reduced dimensionality where emergence extrinsic long-range ordered oxidized and Cl-vacancy-defective CrCl phases experimentally reported. In this work, properties such two-dimensional (2D) systems are studied using density functional theory (DFT) calculations, including electron-electron (U) repulsion interactions, Monte Carlo (MC) simulations. Once Cl vacancies introduced, results indicate that monolayer has moment enhanced linearly (up to 3.14 µ B /Cr) (1%–10%) vacancy concentration range. determines strengthening ferromagnetic state two-fold increase Curie temperature 146 K) as valuated from MC More interestingly, once oxygen impurities considered, structure hybridized forming phase (O–CrCl with atoms allocated on Cr atomic layer center honeycomb ring formed by atoms. The moments O–CrCl localized both O atoms, antiferromagnetically coupled chromium, resulting 2D ferrimagnetic hexagonal lattice an average 2.14 /Cr high ordering (110 predicted DFT mean field approach.

Magnetic properties of undoped Cu(2)O fine powders with magnetic impurities and/or cation vacancies.
Fine powders of micron- and submicron-sized particles of undoped Cu(2)O semiconductor, with three different sizes and morphologies, have been synthesized by different chemical processes. These samples include nanospheres 200 nm in diameter, octahedra of size 1 µm and polyhedra of size 800 nm. They exhibit a wide spectrum of magnetic properties. At low temperature, T = 5 K, the octahedron sample...

Our inelastic neutron scattering study of spin excitations in iron telluride reveals remarkable thermal evolution of the collective magnetism. In the temperature range relevant for the superconductivity in FeTe(1-x)Se(x) materials, where the local-moment behavior is dominated by liquidlike correlations of emergent spin plaquettes, we observe unusual, marked increase of magnetic fluctuations upo...
متن کاملKondo temperature of magnetic impurities at surfaces.
Based on the experimental observation that only the close vicinity of a magnetic impurity at metal surfaces determines its Kondo behavior, we introduce a simple model which explains the Kondo temperatures observed for cobalt adatoms at the (111) and (100) surfaces of Cu, Ag, and Au. Excellent agreement between the model and scanning tunneling spectroscopy experiments is demonstrated. The Kondo ...
متن کاملRoom-temperature Magnetic Ordering in Functionalized Graphene
Despite theoretical predictions, the question of room-temperature magnetic order in graphene must be conclusively resolved before graphene can fully achieve its potential as a spintronic medium. Through scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and point I-V measurements, the current study reveals that unlike pristine samples, graphene nanostructures, when functionalized with aryl radicals, can susta...
متن کاملIncommensurate magnetic order and dynamics induced by spinless impurities in YBa(2)Cu(3)O(6.6).
We report an inelastic-neutron-scattering and muon-spin-relaxation study of the effect of 2% spinless (Zn) impurities on the magnetic order and dynamics of YBa(2)Cu(3)O(6.6), an underdoped high-temperature superconductor that exhibits a prominent spin pseudogap in its normal state. Zn substitution induces static magnetic order at low temperatures and triggers a large-scale spectral-weight redis...
